It has been an absence of 8 months on TravelBeckons.com. Although the first half of 2016 has marked incredible travel voyages and new discoveries, I found myself questioning the purpose of writing on this space. There are countless travel blogs on the www. with useful information and how is it effective if I add my 2cents worth in this abyss of content? I do not have an answer but I always intend to continue writing, albeit in a different style or on different topics.
TravelBeckons.com was created in late 2012 and dedicated to those who aspire to chase dreams. Contrary to thinking, I do not live by the yolo motto. Rather, I seek to live each day mindfully and to do what needs to be done. I had the good fortune of fulfilling my dreams of visiting the land of the long white clouds in 2013, as well as obtained the tourist guide license in Singapore in 2014. In 2015, I stumbled upon one of the most coveted jobs in the world – I had the world’s best bosses – but. Sometimes, letting go is essential for new growth.
A new opportunity has presented itself and in the whirlwind of a month, I found myself waiting for my next flight out, to study in Colombia for 4 months under the FEALAC program. It has always been a dream of mine to master this beautiful and third widely spoken language in the world. And it seems I’m back on tracks to chase dreams. 🙂
It feels surreal though and I kept asking my mom and sis to pinch me on my way to the airport. Like Jeff Greenwald said, I am going where I need to do and I will figure things out when I am there.
Meanwhile, thank you dear family and friends, thank you for your forbearance of my impertinent self, your kind wishes and encouragement. I will keep safe and learn well.
