“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” ~Harriet Tubman
I do not dream of changing the world. My dreams are definitely not “great” by standard for I am self-absorbed and only seek to live as I please (to the best that I can). Yet, I like how Tubman puts across his thoughts on chasing dreams. Do you have any unfulfilled dreams or are you currently on the pursuit of one?
Many years back, I had the good fortune of working at a wonderful travel agency that sells luxurious cruises. My ignorant self learnt much while I was there. Before I joined the company, I know nothing much about Alaska except that it is a very cold place. Where in the world is Fairbanks and… what is an aurora? In the course of my work, I discovered the existence of the Northern Lights, known otherwise as “Aurora Borealis”. I was entranced.
And so begins my chase for the Aurora. One summer, I booked a trip to Alaska but have to cancel it at the last minute. Of course, I was devastated. However, my dream was revived upon coming to New Zealand. If I cannot make it to see the Borealis, I shall try my luck with her sister, the Australis. “Aurora Australis” is the Southern Lights and there are sightings for it in the South Island of New Zealand.
I have set my sights on Lake Tekapo.
